REKUIEM: New Album Due In September
January 17, 2007REKUIEM (formerly REQUIEM),the cult NWOBHM band that was at the very start of the British metal movement alongside such names as DIAMOND HEAD and WITCHFINDER GENERAL, has posted the following message on its official web site:
"After a successful meeting with our record company last week, it is now planned to release a second REKUIEM album in September 2007. Provisionally entitled 'Raise The Dead', the new album will follow in the classic style of 'Time Will Tell' and hopefully go some way to establishing REKUIEM as a 21st century name in rock to be remembered. In the meantime, the label now plan to relaunch 'Time Will Tell' in march with an extra bonus track, video footage and bigger photo booklet in a bid to build on the promo received last year."
In 1980, REQUIEM issued their first and last single, the self-financed "Angel of Sin" on Sacrificial Records. The single was backed by "Sacrificial Wanderer" and was issued without a picture sleeve. It is now incredibly rare and somewhat of a collector's item for NWOBHM fanatics.
REKUIEM's debut album, "Time Will Tell", was released last year via Majestic Rock.
